Sunday, Day 1 - Fleurey sur Ouche
You are met at the designated meeting point and transferred to the elegant L’Impressionniste moored in Fleurey sur Ouche for your cruise through Burgundy. A Champagne reception welcomes you on board and provides you with a chance to meet the crew. Dinner on board.
Monday, Day 2 - Fleurey sur Ouche to Gissey sur Ouche
This morning experience your first day’s cruise along this enchanting canal, which also promises a walk or cycle along an ever-present towpath cruising past sleepy villages and pretty lock houses. After lunch we visit Clos de Vougeot, headquarters of the esteemed Chevaliers du Tastevin, who award every year a special prized label to the finest Cote d‘Or vintages. On the way back to the barge visit one of the great cellars of Burgundy where we enjoy a private tasting of fine Burgundy wines. Dinner on board.
Tuesday, Day 3 - Gissey sur Ouche to La Bussiere
After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of old Dijon including a visit to the produce market, mustard shops and the flamboyant 14th century Ducal Palace which hosts the art museum of Dijon (or enjoy some excellent shopping time). Return to the boat for lunch and leisurely afternoon cruise to La Bussiere. Dinner on board.
Wednesday, Day 4 - La Bussiere to Pont d’Ouche
After a morning cruise to Pont D’Ouche, an exclusive tour of the magnificent 12th Century Abbaye de la Bussiere. The ornamental gardens and lake, wine press, crypt and cellars are interwoven with ancient colonnades, stone staircases and huge stained glass windows. After a Kir Royale aperitif, we enjoy the gastronomic delights of Master Chef Emmanuel Hebrard in the Bistro or Garden Restaurant whilst enjoying a selection of local burgundies. Mid afternoon, we visit the medieval village, craft shops and castle of Chateauneuf-en-Auxois, once an outpost of the Dukes of Burgundy and offering a fine overview of the feeder lakes, canal and surrounding countryside. Dinner on board.
Thursday, Day 5 - Pont d’Ouche to La Repe
After breakfast we cruise to La Repe, passing grazing white Charolais cattle, rolling hills and picturesque villages crossing the only canal bridge on the Burgundy Canal. In the afternoon we drive cross the premier cru vineyards into Beaune, capital of Burgundy wine country with a history going back over 2000 years. We absorb the fascinating 15th century Hotel Dieu Hospice and visit an excellent Burgundy winery and sample some of the local wines. Dinner on board.
Friday, Day 6 - Vandenesse to Escommes
Our last day’s leisurely cruise takes us to the canal summit, 1250 feet above sea level, just before the Pouilly tunnel. This afternoon we visit the moat-encircled 13th century Chateau de Commarin. Going back 26 generations, the de Vogue family ownership portrays an insight into the glamorous lives of the French aristocracy as well as showing off the Chateau, stables and landscaped gardens. Captain’s Farewell Dinner on board.
Saturday, Day 7 - Escommes
After breakfast disembark the barge and transfer to the designated drop off point.
On alternate weeks the cruise is in the reverse direction.

Monday, Day 2 - Fleurey sur Ouche to Gissey sur Ouche
Morning cruise to Gissey sur Ouche. Late morning your wine guide joins the barge for an introductory talk on the vineyards of Burgundy and during an onboard wine-tasting, ensures that everyone has mastered wine tasting techniques. After lunch we drive to Dijon and enjoy a walking tour of the old Dijon. Visit the flamboyant 14th century Ducal Palace, in the centre, the palace is a fine example of early 17th-century classical French architecture. If you prefer you can enjoy some excellent shopping time. Dinner on board.
Tuesday, Day 3 - Gissey sur Ouche to La Bussiere
After breakfast we cruise to La Bussiere. In the afternoon your guide takes you on a visit to Clos de Vougeot, headquarters of the esteemed Chevaliers du Tastevin, who award every year a prized special label to the finest Côte d‘Or vintages. Driving past legendary Grand Cru vineyards we pay homage at the field of Romanée Conti (the most expensive red wine in the world). Next, we stop at the Domaine Dufouleur in the heart of Nuits-St-Georges on the Route des Grands Crus. A tour of the ageing cellar is followed by a tasting of their exceptional Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays. Dinner on board.
Wednesday, Day 4 - La Bussiere to Pont d’Ouche

Morning drive from the barge through wooded hillsides then out into the world famous vineyards of the Cote de Beaune. Making a stop at the Grand Cru vineyard of Le Montrachet we visit a wine producing family in the village of Puligny-Montrachet. Private cellar tour concludes with a tasting of some of the worlds greatest white wines. In the afternoon we drive across the premier cru vineyards into Beaune, capital of Burgundy wine country with a history going back over 2000 years. We absorb the fascinating 15th century Hotel Dieu Hospice, and then enjoy some shopping time. Dinner on board.
Friday, Day 6 - Vandenesse to Escommes
We begin our cruise this morning from Repe and cruise to the canal summit in Escommes, 1250 feet above sea level. This afternoon we visit the medieval village of Flavigny sur Oserain, classed amongst 100 prettiest villages in France the history of which runs back to the Roman era. It is renowned for its Benedictine abbey built in the 8th century, restored in the 15th and its production of Anis de Flavigny, made the same way since 1591.The village was also used by Lasse Hallstrom in 2000 as the setting for the American film “Le Chocolat”, staring Julliette Binoche and Johnny Depp. Captains Farewell Dinner on board.

After lunch we transfer to Golf Blue Green in Quetigny, situated just 5 minutes from the centre of Dijon in the heart of wine producing Burgundy, where you will find a short but technical golf course that runs along the river Mirande. Designed by Chris Pittman, and opened in 1990, this course offers a challenge for all levels of player; so do not be fooled by its length. Dinner on board. (18 Holes, Par 71 625m).
Tuesday, Day 3 - Gissey sur Ouche to La Bussiere
After breakfast transfer to Golf de Beaune Levernois. The course was designed in the middle of the vineyards of Burgundy, within a framework of relaxation and greenery. It is a technical course with 9 lakes and its bunkers of white sand as well as many large trees. This course is reserved for all levels of player. Return to the barge for lunch and leisurely afternoon cruise to La Bussiere. Dinner on board. (18 holes, Par 72, 6473m).
Wednesday, Day 4 - La Bussiere to Pont d’Ouche

After breakfast we cruise to Vandenesse, passing grazing white Charolais cattle, rolling hills and picturesque villages crossing the only canal bridge on the Burgundy Canal. In the afternoon we drive to Chateau de Chailly golf course which was designed by Thierry Sprecher and Géry Watine, professional champion of France in 1989. Around its 16th century chateau, the Chailly golf course offers a magnificent course audaciously marrying the classicism of a formal garden and avant-garde golfing technology as regards the golfing construction. Dinner on board. (18 holes, Par 72, 6146m).
Friday, Day 6 - Vandenesse to Escommes
Our last day’s leisurely cruise takes us to the canal summit, 1250 feet above sea level, just before the Pouilly tunnel. We then transfer to Club de Pre Lamy, situated among the rolling pastures of the Auxois as they meet the forest of the Morvan. Under the calm but ever watchful eye of the château and the Collegial church of Thil, the course provides a real test for experienced players. At the same time, in a calm unhurried environment, with beautiful sights, beginners will be able to improve their skills on a course well suited to their needs. Captains Farewell Dinner on board. (9 Holes, Par 33, 2286m).
Saturday, Day 7 - Escommes
After breakfast disembark the barge and transfer to the designated drop off point.
On alternate weeks the cruise is in the reverse direction.
