We have
provided a list of the most frequently asked questions in
relation to Renault Car Leasing in Europe.

Can
my wife drive the vehicle ?
Your wife, your children and your parents can drive the vehicle
at no extra charge if they are at least 18 years old, have
a valid driver's license for the countries in which they
drive, and if they comply with the same tax-free regulations
as you do. NB: Partners can also drive the vehicle if your
relationship has been officially recognized or if they sign
an official sworn statement.
Can
I lease a car if I have a European passport ?
Yes, if you have not resided in the EU for more than 6 months
you can lease a car. You will have to complete a statutory
declaration which is provided with your lease contract attesting
to the fact that you are travelling on holiday and that you
will return to a non EU country at the end of your lease
period/holiday.
What
documents will I need to collect my car ?
You will need to have the following on you - your Renault Eurodrive
contract – an international driver's license – a
valid passport. If you have asked someone else to collect
the vehicle, make sure you give this person written authorization.
Can
I pay a supplement to be insured in countries other than
those you cover ?
No. Unfortunately no geographical extension to the insurance
contract is possible.
What
are the additional costs ?
As with any vehicle service costs are the responsibility of the owner of
the vehicle (you).
What
happens if I go anyway ?
If you decide to visit a country not covered by our insurance/assistance
you are fully liable and must pay all expenses resulting
from a breakdown or other problem
Can
I return the car to another centre than the one initially
planned ?
Yes, absolutely. You must simply contact the centre of your
choice at least 72 hours in advance to make an appointment
and to get the phone number and opening hours of the centre
along with a map).
Can
I choose the colour of my car ?
Unfortunately, we cannot promise to provide a particular colour.
However, Renault tries to make sure its vehicles are in the
most popular colours of the day.
If
I pick up a car in winter, does it come with snow tyres
?
No. Our vehicles have all-weather tyres all year round. When
driving in winter it is the responsibility of each driver
to respect the legal requirements in place in each country
visited. If you decide to purchase your own snow tyres
you must return the car with its original all weather tyres
or you will be billed for them.

Will
my vehicle come with all the equipment required by individual
countries ?
Your vehicle will come with an emergency triangle and one
safety vest. The safety vest must be stored inside the vehicle
(not in the boot). If a situation requires you to exit your
vehicle on the side of a road you must put on a vest before
leaving the vehicle.
Any other equipment that may be required in some countries
are your responsibility.
What
are the additional costs ?
The Renault Eurodrive programme is a tax free sale with buy back agreement. After
you pay for your lease in your home country, your only other cost will be your
petrol or diesel, tolls and motorway charges. Note that EXCLUSIVELY, Renault
insurance does cover: Punctured tyres; Loss or stolen vehicle keys; Incorrect
fuel placed in your vehicle and your personal effects.
What
documents do I need to cross borders in Europe ?
There are very few borders these days. However the documents
you are given when you take deliver of your car - the vehicle
registration document (grey card), car insurance and Warranty
booklet and your identity papers (Passport, international
driver's licence) suffice to cross European borders. However,
you may need to purchase a special disc to travel in certain
countries eg Hungary, Czech republic etc .
Is
it possible to have the vehicle delivered or picked up
at the end of the contract ?
We unfortunately can only deliver vehicles to Renault Eurodrive
delivery centres. French legislation prevents us from driving
your vehicle
Considering
this is 'my car' do I still have access to roadside assistance
?
Yes. Roadside assistance is provided in over 44 European countries,
7 days a week and 24 hours a day. Full details are provided
with your final documentation.
Can
I extend my lease once I have started ?
Yes you can. You must contact the Head office at least 8 days
prior to the end of your lease so that they can send you
the paperwork to extend the insurance contract. Please note
that the charge will be higher than what you paid in Australia.
What
are the age limits for drivers ?
You must be in possession of a full drivers licence (no provisional
or learner drivers allowed) . There is no upper age limit.
What
countries are covered by the GPS unit ?
Many of the vehicles provided by Renault Eurodrive are equipped with a GPS unit including the coverage of Europe.
The coverage of the GPS unit is detailed below:
Countries fully covered (99.9%) - Andorra, Austria, Belgium, Canary Islands, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Hungary, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, San Marino, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Vatican City.
Countries partially covered - Bulgaria (54%), Croatia (42%, including major cities and coastal areas), Greece (84%), Latvia (63%), Russia (33%), and Turkey (63%).
Connector roads
Other Central European Countries are covered allowing you seamless navigation throughout the entire region.

Does
the vehicle come with a 'vignette' or Swiss highway sticker
?
The vehicle does not come with any highway stickers or vignettes.
It is your responsibility to buy one at the border. So if
you are travelling to Austria, Switzerland, Czech republic
please enquire.
Do
I need to leave a deposit when I arrive or pay for any
extras ?
No. Once you have paid UK and Europe Travel you will be given
a prepaid voucher, this will cover you for your lease and there
are no extra’s to pay other than toll, highway charges
or fuel. There is no deposit required or credit card imprints
taken at time of collection.
How
much fuel is provided and do I need to return the vehicle
full ?
The vehicle will be delivered with between 10-15 litres of
fuel, which in most cases is enough to get out of the city
or on your way. You are not required to return the vehicle
full and there are no charges in doing this.
Can
my friend or relative collect the vehicle for me ?
No. The registered driver (the client that completed the forms),
must collect and return the vehicle as there are forms to
be completed.

Can
I travel on a European passport ?
Yes you
can. However when completing the contracts you will need to
supply UK and Europe Travel with a letter outlining your intentions
to travel, dates
of return and a copy of an invoice being phone, water or elctricity bill stating
your current address. You must not reside in the EU and you must have been
in Australia for more then 6 months.Detailed information on this will be sent
with your Peugeot Lease Forms when your booking has been confirmed.
What
deposit do I need to make with my Peugeot booking ?
A deposit
of AUD $500 is required at the time of reservation
to secure your booking if made outside of 6 weeks of collection.
This deposit is non-refundable if the booking is cancelled
within 6 weeks of collection.
How far
in advance can I make amendments to my Peugeot booking
?
6
weeks prior to collection, no fee. Inside 6 weeks, fees may
apply.
Do
I need an International Driving Permit (IDP) when renting
a Peugeot ?
An IDP is proof that you hold a valid driver licence in your
home country at the date of issue of the IDP and should be
carried with your domestic driver licence. It is a very useful
travel document and is required or recommended for many countries
when hiring a motor vehicle.

No. Preference of colour can be written on the leasing contract,
under the 'Observation' section, however it cannot be guaranteed.
What

Can I
pay extra to be insured in other countries not covered
by insurance ?
Unfortunately this is not possible. The insurance policy can not be extended
or changed. If you do decide to travel ins a country not covered by insurance
you will be held fully liable and must pay all expenses resulting from a breakdown
or theft.
Can I change my drop off point once I have already
started my lease ?
Yes you can. If you are changing from a French location to a non French location
you will have to pay the fee to Peugeot Sodexa in Paris.
Is there
a cancellation policy with Peugeot Sodexa ?
Yes,
a cancellation fee does apply. If a booking is cancelled
outside 6 weeks - No charge. If a booking is cancelled
within 6 weeks of collection, a fee will apply but it depends
on whether car has already been registered, insured, transported
etc. Fees can be as high as $1800 approx so please ensure
you have travel insurance.
Does

They may drive locally without the registered driver but under no circumstances
can the family member take the vehicle across any borders or for lengthy
periods without the registered driver in the car.
If I
take my vehicle on a ferry will I be covered by insurance
?
Yes.
You are covered by full comprehensive insurance` and are
covered in both the UK and Ireland. Ferry crossing fees
are not included in the costs; these will need to be prepaid.

Can I
upgrade my car on arrival or request accessories ?
No. Therefore it is vital you choose the correct vehicle and accessories prior.
Considering
this is 'my car' do I still have access to roadside assistance
?
Yes. Roadside assistance is provided in over 25 European countries, 7 days
a week and 24 hours a day. Full details are provided with your final documentation.
Do Peugeot
Sodexa offer Tow Bars as an accessory or allow them to
be fitted ?
No. Peugeot do not offer these or allow them to be fitted on the vehicle by
the client.
Does
the Peugeot vehicle come with a spare tyre ?
Yes. One spare tyre is included with all vehicles.
Do Peugeot
provide safety equipment required by individual countries
?
No.
It is the responsibility of the client to ensure they have
the adequate and necessary items required. The laws and
requirements vary between countries.
Peugeot cannot predict where each client will travel and therefore leave it
to the client to investigate and purchase.
Will
a reflective jacket and breakdown triangle be provided
in the Peugeot vehicle ?
All Peugeot deliveries from the 1st of July 2008 will be provided
with a security kit which includes a reflective jacket and
triangle. Peugeot Sodexa will charge the client's credit card
EUR25 should the items not be returned with the vehicle.
What are the additional costs ?
After you pay for your lease in your
home country, your only other cost will be your petrol or diesel, tolls and
motorway charges. Note that insurance
does not cover: Punctured or damaged tyres; Loss or non return
of the vehicle keys; Loss or non return of the registration and insurance
papers; Incorrect fuel placed in your vehicle and your personal effects.
What
tyres do Peugeot vehicles come with ?
All
vehicles are fitted with standard tyres prior to leaving
the Peugeot Sodexa factory. Standard tyres are not suitable
for all winter conditions and during certain periods of
the year. It is the clients responsibility to purchase
the appropriate 'winter tyres' whilst overseas and have
them fitted and removed at a authorised Peugeot Dealer.
Snow chains can be prepaid with Uk and Europe Travel
prior to departure and supplied by Peugeot Sodexa at time
of
collection, however they are not suitable for highway driving.
If I
want to extend or change the details of my lease whilst
I'm overseas, can I do this through my Australian
Travel Agent ?
No.
Extensions or changes are possible however you will need
to contact Peugeot Sodexa direct and arrange this with
them. All costs will be in Euro and current
taxes applied.
Does the car have to be serviced ?
Yes - the car needs
a first service at 20,000km for petrol and 30,000kms for diesel models.
This is at your expense.
What
happens if my vehicle is stolen or I have an accident ?
Detailed information will be given to you in your final documentation, however
it is relatively simple. You need to follow the same procedure as you would
at home. Contact the police, fill out an accident report form and fax the document
to Peugeot. In the event of your vehicle being stolen once you have notified
Peugeot, the promissory note amount will not be invoked.
If I have to return
earlier for any reason can I do this, and am I entitled
for a refund ?
Yes,
please make sure you contact the representative prior to
organise the return. A partial refund may be issued to
client who had an initial lease for more than 35 days and
who returned more than 7 days prior to the organised date.
How do I purchase
the emission sticker that is required in certain parts
of Germany ?
These can
only be purchased at the Peugeot dealerships in Germany. Simply
show the registration papers that you are given at the
start of the lease and the dealer will provide you with the
emission sticker. The cost is approximately EUR 8.

Will
I get a new car and what are the purchase taxes such as
VAT / GST ?
Your
Citroën EuroPass
car is a brand new vehicle and, under the special arrangement
with the French Government, it is tax free.
Is my EuroPass Citroën
insured ?
Citroën
EuroPass includes full comprehensive insurance with
no insurance excess.
Can I travel on a European
passport ?
Yes
you can if you are not residing in the EU and will return
to your place of residence which must be a non EU country
at the end of your holiday. Extra paperwork is required
and will be provided to you with your lease forms.
Does my new Citroen require a service ?
Yes. The first service
is required between 15,000 and 20,000 kilometres which will be at your cost.
Is there a limit on the number of kilometres I
can drive my Citroën ?
No. You can do as many
or as few kilometres as you wish, it has no effect on the price or conditions.
What happens if I have a
problem with my EuroPass Citroën ?
Your
EuroPass Citroën includes a 24 hour free-call emergency
service backed by 24 hour roadside assistance and it
is supported by an extensive Citroën
dealer group that covers every country in which you can use your EuroPass
Citroën.
Can I pay extra to be insured

Citroën allows you to
extend the lease period while you are on your European trip. Additional fees
apply. Simply contact Citroën head office in Paris 10
days prior to the original expiry date, with payment reaching Citroën Champ
De Mars 5 days prior to the original expiry date, for your lease and insurance
policy to be extended.
What are the age limits for
drivers ?
There
is no upper age limit and the minimum age is 21 years.
All drivers must hold a full driver's licence.
What safety and security
equipment is fitted to my EuroPass Citroën ?
All
EuroPass Citroëns are fitted with ABS brakes, 2 or more
airbags, central locking and engine immobiliser as well
as power steering and front power windows.
What sort of in-car entertainment
does my EuroPass Citroën come with ?
All
EuroPass Citroëns are fitted with a CD system.
Why are there so many diesels on offer and so few
automatics ?
In Europe due to environmental
concerns diesel fuel can cost up to 20% less than petrol and is up to 35% more
fuel efficient. There are simply more diesels manufactured. Automatics are
also rare for this reason.
Where can I pick up my EuroPass
Citroën for free ?
There
is free pick-up and return for your EuroPass Citroën
at more than 20 locations across France. You need not
pick-up and drop-off to the same location.
Can you deliver or collect the
car ?
Unfortunately this can
not be done for legal and insurance reasons.
Can
