Charente, between the Loire and
the Garonne, runs slowly to the ocean.
It is an accessible river, of a great beauty, favourable
to navigation with complete freedom. It is called also
the happy river … You will cross the tender landscapes
and will discover how the alders, the fennels of water
or other reeds wild have invaded the banks. Undoubtedly
will see too some martins-fishermen, will ash-grey herons
or moorhens. Lover of fishing, carps, trouts, sandres,
pikes, eels and a lot of others still populate Charente,
