Frauenkirche

Located in Dresden, the Frauenkirche (Church of Our Lady) is a church that was completely reconstructed and reopened in 2005. After being completely destroyed during World War II, the construction team relied on the original plans from the 1720s for the church to rebuild it. Since then, it has become a hugely popular tourist attraction, even gaining a visit from former U.S. President Barack Obama in 2009.

The palace was commissioned by Ludwig II of Bavaria as a retreat and as a homage to Richard Wagner in 1869. It was completed in 1886 and opened to the public that same year.
